ACTIVITIES
Activities of the Beltsville Lions
Club for the 2004 - 2005 fiscal year
During the period July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005, the
Beltsville Lions Club was involved
with many community service activities, highlighted by the following:

Held a Friendship Night in October
2004 |

Provided eye exams and glasses to many individuals |
| º
Provided funding to help the victims of the Florida Hurricanes |
|
º
Provided for an individual to have a hearing exam and new hearing aids |
|
º
Financially assisted a Scout from the local Scout Troup in his "Eagle Scout
Project" |
|
º
Sponsored four bloodmobiles at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, throughout
the year |
|
º
Assisted with the annual Kids Fest at the Washington Convention Center |
|
º
Several members participated in the annual “Walk for Sight” |
|
º
A member of the Club volunteered 720 hours toward the production of the
Beltsville News |
|
º A member of our
Club has volunteered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars |
|
º
Provided funding and volunteers for Special Olympics |
|
º
Provided a scholarship to an individual from our local High School |
|
º
Provided financial assistance to the AmeriCorps volunteer Luncheon |
| º
Provided heating oil to a needy couple |
|
º
Provided food to many needy families throughout the year |
|
º
Provided Thanksgiving/Christmas Baskets to 13 families which included 63
individuals |

º
Provided funding to
the Leader Dog Program (seeing Eye Dogs) |

º
Volunteered at the Maryland Special Olympics Summer Games |
|
Notes of significance involving the Beltsville Lions
Club during the 2004 - 2005 fiscal year:
A member of this Club is Chairman of the Finance
Committee for Special Olympics, Prince George's County, Maryland, providing fundraising
services for this organization.
A member of this Club serves as news director and
advertising manager for the Beltsville News, the local monthly newspaper

Club:

Collected more than 1400 pairs of used eye
glasses to be reused for the needy,
